Today’s lunch is my favorite Japanese meal, Udon noodle.
Udon noodle is thick and chewy noodle compared to soba noodle or Italian pasta.
I was so looking forward to eating Udon noodle at Yamahan, because this restaurant is very popular only among gourmet people in Azabu.
The menu sheet of Yamaha is easy to understand.
They have numbers beside of the picture, so that it is easy to point out what you want even if you cannot understand Japanese.
I did not know that we have that many type of Udon noodle!!
For example, they had "Carbonara Udon"! I want to try that one next time!
I ordered cold udon noodle with beef, eggplant and yam.
Now, I suppose you may be not familiar to yam, it is a kind of potato which is sticky gooey paste.
This sounds pretty strange, but taste awesome, goes so well with udon and soba noodle, and moreover, has great nutrition.
My friend ordered different type of udon, with fried seafood. I didn't ordered rice, but you can have white rice or seasoned rice for free in lunch time!!!
Also, if you pay extra ¥100, you can have bigger bowl of udon.
Inside of the restaurant is quite new, and good smells of wood and delicious udon noodle welcomes you!
This round wooden box is for grated yam kelp.
It changes taste a little salty when you put them in Udon.
Try a little bit and see if you like it!
I am not exaggerating, but this udon noodle was the best in my life!
I can confidently recommend you to visit Yamahan to eat Udon.
They have hot and cold Udon in each menu. In winter season, their Oden is also popular, so please check out!
