TETSU is a ramen shop in Roppongi. It’s just a 2-minute walk from Roppongi Station. But I got lost so it took me more than that lol
Be careful! Although it’s inside Roppongi Hills, it’s not Mori Building. It’s on B1 floor of North Tower.
Took me a while to get to TETSU! Phew…
But wait a minute… there’s a HUGE line!
It was probably crowded because of the Naruto exhibition that was going on at the time.
First, purchase a meal ticket at the ticket vending machine. Choose the noodle type first: Ramen, Tsukemen or Mazesoba.
There’s a bunch of stuff you have to choose from here.
If you want large size, you have to choose it at the vending machine (Regular: 200g, Large: 300g).
I ordered Mazesoba. I can’t wait! It’s my favorite thick noodle!
Tsukemen ¥840
Ramen ¥780
Mazesoba ¥840
As for Tsukemen, regular and large size cost the same!!
This is a photo I took while I was lining up.
We finally got to go in after 30 minutes! When we sat down, a kind staff brought us a basket to put our bags in.
When you give your meal ticket to the staff, they’ll ask you if you want garlic in it or not.
You can also change the amount of garlic too.
When I was waiting for the Mazesoba, I saw my neighbor getting this black thing!
And he is putting it in the soup!
And it looks hot!
And I saw this poster.
It’s called Yaki-ishi (baked stone). I’ve never seen this before!
You basically put in the Yaki-ishi when the Tsukemen soup gets cold so that your soup will become warm again.
And long-awaited Mazesoba!
WOAAAAAAAAAH!!!
It looks cool.
Wait!? Soup??
Mazesoba came with soup!
You pour some soup by your choice!
I put a little bit in it!
Mazesoba literally means “mixed Soba” so you have to mix it well before eating!
Sooooo it looks like this!
It’s soaked in oil so the thick noodle is shiny. You have to mix it with a variety of ingredients.
The taste of pig bone soup and fried garlic makes it so much better.
This thick taste got me addicted!
I loved the pork back oil in the soup so I ended up pouring them all.
When I was eating, one of the staffs asked me “was the amount alright?”.
A good atmosphere!
One portion is pretty big so if it’s your first time here, I recommend you to get Nami-mori (regular size).
If you like Jiro-style Ramen or junky stuff, this is the place for you!
After you finish eating, just say “Gochisousama” and you can leave.
By all means, come and try the wonderful Ramen at TETSU.
