Godaigo is located in Ginza Corridor Street.
The white lantern just outside the restaurant caught my eyes.
Because it was Friday, it was sooo crowded!
Luckily, we only waited for 5 minutes!
There are table seats, counter-seats, and Zashiki seats.
It seems like a popular place after work.
We were led to the counter-seats.
We ordered beer to start off!
I saw delicious Oden (food made from fish meat, eggs, vegetables seasoned lightly with soy sauce, simmered for a long time in ample soup) right in front of us!
I have no choice but to order!
I ordered Yakitori, Oden, and some other hors d’oeuvres and waited.
Today’s starter was Shirasuoroshi Yuba (dried soybean milk skin).
I never went to a restaurant that served Yuba as a starter!
It comes with Wasabi.
It definitely goes well with alcohol.
Food started to arrive.
Starting from Sea Urchin.
Sea Urchin comes with the shell so take it out with a spoon and put it on a small plate.
IT’S SOOOO SWEET!!!
It’s so creamy too!
It melted in my mouth!
Oden arrived.
An earthen pot was placed on a Shichirin (portable clay-cooking stove).
I peeked inside…
8 different Oden and two of each. You don’t have to get into a fight about who’s going to eat what haha
We got an assorted selection, but you can also order it separately.
Spices…
leeks, mustard, and miso
I first tried it with some mustard.
The radish had a firm taste of the soup.
Despite the color, it had a strong and rich taste.
We got some Japanese Sake to go with it.
Kushiyaki seems like it’s ready!
I started with Tsukune (meat ball) and Negima (chicken and leek skewers).
Tsukune was so soft and it had some chopped leeks inside it.
This was something new to me.
Sprinkle some Black Shichimi (black pepper). It makes it even more delicious!
It goes so well with Negima.
Squid Sashimi was so thick and the meat was sooooo sweet!!
Octopus was just-fried! It was chewy!
All the meals were really delicious. I was full but I couldn't stop ordering.
Ray fin was just perfect to go with alcohol. It was broiled in a small Shichirin.
When it’s nicely browned, move it onto your plate.
Mayonnaise…ahhh it’s soooo addicting!!
But especially liked Tebasaki (chicken wing).
Of course the chicken itself is good but the way they cook it is just perfect.
Crispy on the outside, and soft and juicy in the inside.
This is not so easy.
Let’s give a clap to the Godaigo masters.
I definitely recommend this restaurant to people who love alcohol because there are so many amazing snacks.
My stomach feels bloated!
Gochisousama-deshita.
