Conveniently located at only a minute walk from Kinshicho station, “Toritastu” is the perfect restaurant to go if you are in the area, you like chicken, and are looking to eat without spending too much time. The restaurant also offers takeout menus if you are on an extra tight schedule.
The exterior is bright and the interior looks nice and clean.
Wow! It won first prize four years in a row at a karaage contest! Can’t wait to try the fried chicken!!
The atmosphere of the restaurant is pleasant.
With several tables and one counter, the restaurant can accommodate about ten people. As there is a fast customer rotation, you will not need to wait for long.
Half of the staff are male, the other female, making it comfortable for female customers on their own, like myself. The staff are very lively and give out a good vibe.
I was definitely going to get karaage, but wanted a little twist. So, I ordered Shoga Negi Shio Karaage Don, rice topped with chicken karaage with ginger and negi leak seasoning.
On the other side of the counter, I see the staff prepare the chicken. A lot of people are ordering takeout.
After about five minutes later, my food is ready!
Wow, it looks quite substantial!
There are about seven big pieces of karaage!
See how big the piece is?
Okay, time to take a bite.
Ouch! I almost burned myself…
Fresh is always best. The salt sauce and chicken are a perfect combination.
Crispy on the outside and soft and juicy on the inside. Tasty!
There is first a layer of cut up nori seaweed on the rice, and the chicken karaage pieces are on the top.
It comes with pickles and self-service red ginger.
The fresh karaage was delicious! As the pieces are quite big, you might want to ask for a smaller portion of rice if you are not such a big eater. I think I will come here regularly!
