Takadanobaba is famous for Ramen and although it tastes good, there are only counter-seats and you can’t really relax.
Especially during hot summer days, you would want something that is not too heavy.
That’s when you go to Takenoya in Takadanobaba.
Soba here is thin and it is recommended to eat it cold.
When you enter the store, you are greeted with a large raccoon.
The raccoon is so biggg!!
The store has a relaxing atmosphere.
There’s a set menu that changes day by day and this is the most popular.
It’s usually a set of Soba and some kind of rice.
Today’s set came with Soba and curry.
As for soba, you can choose from cold Sansai (edible wild plants) Soba, warm soba, Mori Soba (a Japanese soba served on a bamboo platter).
I ordered Sansai Soba.
It came within 5 minutes!!
Soba came with bracken, osmund nameko mushrooms, and egg.
Mix it well before eating.
The set curry had a gentle taste too!
When Soba restaurants serve curry, they usually mix Soba soup into the curry so the taste may differ by shops. This is one of the things you should enjoy.
This restaurant is well known for cold Soba. There are Cold Tanuki Soba, Cold Kitsune Soba, Cold Sansai Soba and so on.
There are only a few people working at the restaurant so you may have to wait a little bit, but it’s definitely worth the wait.
