Noudai street places on the right side of Odakyu line, kyodo station. You will not miss the sign of “Shirakame” on the right hand side after walking along the street for several minutes. Please turn right at that corner and walk for a while, that street will leads you to the hideaway soba restaurant “Shirakame”.

The wooden made inside makes you feel comfortable.
There are only 5 seats along the counter, and 4 tables. This coziness is producing a homey atmosphere. The cute ornaments placed on the counter also create warmth in the restaurant.

Japanese interior design matches the atmosphere.
I chose the ordinary “Morisoba”.
It takes while to get what you ordered, but you can see the master working so hard for your soba over the counter. Please be patient and enjoy watching the master cooks soba for you over the counter.
Otherwise, you may want to order sake, Japanese alcohol, and some snacks before hand.

The scent and flavor are noticeably good, due to Juwari-soba, which is 100% made with buckwheat flour. I had soba without seasons to start. The little hardness of soba makes perfect texture and excellent throat comfort.

There is no taste in spices, but you can order Wakabi with additional fee.

A couple runs the restaurant. The lady has beautiful personality with soft and gentle atmosphere. I really enjoyed talking with her♪
Since the husband is more like “a man of few words”, they seemed a great couple balancing each other.

I was looking for to finish up my soba to have “soba-yu”. I suppose it is not familiar to you who is from overseas. Soba-yu is water left in the pot after soba was boiled. It is milky while and has a little thickenss♪ It also considered to be good for your health because it contains fiber, protein, vitaminB, and curium in the water.

The richness of soba-yu was more my preference than smooth one.
This soba restaurant definitely ranks in my top 5 favorite soba restaurants!
