Shibuya-batake is a shabushabu restaurant, just five minutes away from Shibuya station.
The chic and modern looking restaurant is inside a stylish building.
There are private rooms, tables and a counter.
It accommodates all different groups of customers for every occasion.
The sensu fans on the wall are fashionable
This time, my friend and I went for the 120-minute All-You-Can-Eat&Drink course.
The drink menu has a long selection from shochu, Korean makkolli, sour and various cocktails. Lots to choose from!
But first, let’s begin with beer, shall we?
Kanpai!
Nothing better than ice-cold beer!
For hors d’oeuvre, Chinese style Yamakurage (dried stem lettuce) and bangbangji (chicken in spicy sauce).
The vegetables and meat plate is here. After you finish this plate, you will be able to choose what you like from the all-you-can-eat menu.
Beautiful meat and vegetables. Can’t wait to “shabushabu”!
I serve myself some of their special sauce.
I can taste the umami flavor of dashi in this sauce. It’s really tasty!
With an additional \200, you can choose two kinds of soup for the shabushabu.
The standard flavor is the konbu seaweed dashi. We chose hot pot as the second soup.
I throw in the vegetables in the pot, and stir the meat around.
Making sure that the pork is cooked…
Itadakimasu!
So tender!
The meat has a really nice natural flavor. I can’t believe the quality for an all-you-can-eat course!
The beef is delicious together with lettuce.
I finished the meat in no time.
The additional meats are all very good quality as well. Tender marble meat!
My favorite is wrapping this fatty meat around some raw negi leek.
The combination of crunchy negi and tender meat is perfection!
Juicy and refreshing at the same time!
The vegetables include unusual items for shabushabu, like rape blossoms or bamboo.
My personal hit of the day was… pea sprouts!
So flavorful! Again, it was delicious wrapped in meat, after leaving it in the boiling soup for a bit.
We ate and drank all we wanted, and the bill came to under ¥5000 for two!!!
The price and quality definitely don’t match… but it’s fine by me!
Make sure you come with an empty stomach!
