Popular Asahikawa-style Shio Ramen

Santouka is a 3-minute walk from Meiji-jingumae Station.

Walk towards Omotesando Crossing, enter an alley, and that’s where Santouka is!

The head store of Santouka is in Asahikawa, Hokkaido.

I know there’s a lot of Santouka fans!

The restaurant is dim but this is what makes it great!

There are counter-seats around the kitchen.

If you are here, definitely order Shio Ramen (Ramen seasoned with salt).

I ordered Shio Ramen (¥850) and it arrived in 4 minutes!!

4

The soup is pure white!

The toppings are grilled pork, Naruto (a type of Kamaboko), leeks, bamboo shoots, Jew’s ears, and Japanese plum.

White sesame is sprinkled on it!

I took a sip of the soup…

This is it!!

Pork bone soup doesn’t have the peculiar taste.

It’s a very gentle taste but SO addictive!

The thin noodle is boiled firm.

6

When you eat it with the toppings, it’s AMAZING! The crunchy texture of Jew’s ear makes it so much better!

I’ve never tasted grilled pork like this before! I’m pretty sure this grilled pork was soaked in Miso! It had a faint smell of Miso.

3 slices of grilled pork! Yay!

7

The ingredients go so well with the soup! What an impressive Ramen!

I’m pretty sure anyone will like the Ramen because it doesn’t have the unique taste of pork bones!

I almost ate them in one mouthful!

Shio Ramen!! Please come and enjoy!!
