I visited long standing Gyudon, beef bowl, restaurant in Akiharabara!
The restaurant was started in 1984,
This restaurant got into Wikipedia. Also, it was reported in the TV show
So there are secret admires of this restaurant.
Menu is simple;
Beef bowl, plate, beef plate.
You can add egg or miso soup for plus ¥50.
If you order plate menu, beef and rice come separately and
if you order beef plate menu, tofu and Shirataki(noodles made from devil’s tongue stretch) is added to the plate menu and similar to Sukiyaki.
When you get inside, you have to buy the ticked first.
I bought the ticket of Gyudon and add egg and miso soup.
¥570 for all!
Seats are table seats and counter seats.
Inside is quiet and calm.
When I look from outside, it seemed like there are many men customers.
However, once I get inside, I saw many women group and there was even a woman coming here alone!
It seems like customers comes here by word of mouth.
I waited only 1min for Gyudon!
Speedy service is always good.
And this volume!
Plenty of meat is on!
Quality if meat is also good.
Not too much fat and compared to other Gyudon restaurant,
meat volume and quality is another level.
Pour egg into the bowl.
Add red pickled ginger
and let’s eat.
When I bite once…
More delicious than I thought!
Meat is soft and seasoning is little strong.
But when it catches egg,
it makes taste milder and so balanced.
I never get bored with the taste!
Also, rice catches sauce.
Rice is boiled firmer so that it doesn’t get wetly when sauce soak.
Though it has volume, women around me ate them all in a second!
This Gyudon sharpen my appetite.
If you add red pepper spice, it gets more delicious.
This restaurant used to have unique rules like “No mobile phone”, “No question”, and etc, but it changed recently and staffs and atmosphere got really softer.
You can taste definitely better Gyudon than other chain stores, SANBO!
