I can’t believe this is Tokyo.
Sakagura Niigata serves Matagi cuisine (Matagi is an ancient hunting communities in Tohoku).
Matagi cuisine is often eaten in Tohoku, but there aren’t many restaurants.
I can’t believe I can eat Matagi cuisine in Tokyo.
The interior is like this…
I see a bear!
The master shot the bear and decided to display it in the restaurant.
Today we had Japanese gibier cuisine.
Started off with Deer Sashimi.
Yummm!
It’s light lean meat.
It was soft and it immediately melted in my mouth.
I want another plate of it!
I also had Sake of Char.
Woah…the whole Char is in the Sake.
The Dashi (soup) of Char makes it even more delicious.
You can always order another helping of Japanese sake.
It’s delicious!
The main dish is Kuma hotpot.
The bear meat is a little hard, but has a lot of fat.
I feel like I’m getting power!
It has a lot of bear meat…(this is for two though).
I think this is for 4-5 people.
It’s so addicting!
At the end, we had Boar Karaage (fried chicken).
It’s definitely worth a try!
It’s fatty and rich in flavor.
There are so many items I recommend!
