Shinokubo became popular because of the Korean boom.
Among Yakiniku(Korean BBQ) restaurants are lined on the street,
there is traditional Soba restaurant opened since Meiji era.
“Oumiya”.
Omiya was recently redecorated and became more familiar atmosphere than before.
There is the raccoon dog figurine in front of the restaurant and welcomes me.
Because it was recently remodeled, tables and walls are so clean.
The old one was sober style so this new style might seem strange to the regular customers.
However, as I walked in, staff greeted me
When staff says “I will bring you a hot tea. While you wait, please look for menu” with a good smile, this makes me smile as well.
What she says is normal words, but those are not just a business conversation, but warmth in the words.
Now, let’s look the menu!
All of them look delicious.
They provide kinds of side dishes.
Each of them is high quality and only alcohol and side dish can make me satisfied.
Last time I came here, I had conger tempura. It was so soft and if you like conger, you must have it!
Today, I decided to have Soba with Nameko mushrooms.
10mins later, Nameko Soba arrived and it looked so good!
Looks delicious~!
A lot of small size Nameko mushrooms are in it.
Pour special noodle soup in it and put Soba.
There are many local fans of this Soba.
If you came here, you definitely have to try it!
Let’s have a taste!
Put plenty of soup to noodles and such into mouth.
Mmmm!
The soup has strong soy sauce taste.
Noodle is firm and smooth.
Orthodox Soba, that haven’t changed since old time.
Further more, Nameko mushrooms are slick and smooth, good for summer!
This Soba is my favorite in Oumiya’s cold soba.
When I find
When I finish eating Soba, drink Sobayu(water boiled soba noodle).
I love to mix Sobayu and noodle soup and drink it last.
I am so satisfied!
I ate it all.
I want this restaurant to keep this orthodox taste in future.
When you feel like to eat Japanese food in Shinokubo, try this restautrant!
You can enjoy seasonal taste!
