At a one-minute walk from Morishita station, there is a café I recommend.

It is Ono Coffee-ten, a popular Shitamachi* café.
*Low-lying area filled with independent shops and factories, known for its friendly and traditional atmosphere

The signboard is stylish

The interior has a retro kind of feel. Lovely!

As there are only several tables, sometimes there is even a waiting line outside.

The specialty of the café is no other than the extra thick hotcake!

The established taste, made possible by the unchanging recipe and cooking method, continues to wow the customers after 34 years.(2015 year)

You can enjoy this good old hotcake for only \260.

I ordered the hot cake and a Berry Yogurt Shake to go with it. It’s the perfect drink for a hot summer day!

The sweet and sour berry taste is addicting!

My wonderful-smelling fluffy hotcake is placed in front of me!

I pour on some maple syrup…

I spread a little butter… and take a bite.

Fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside!

Sooo delicious! The flavor of the butter fills my mouth. It’s heavenly…!

The thick cake is well cooked to the middle and is nice and soft.

Just one piece, and I’m already full.

The simple flavoring of maple syrup and butter is perfect.

But if you want to make it a bit more interesting, put on lots of whipped cream. It’s delicious!

The elderly couple sitting by my side seemed to be very happy too.
“It’s like we’re children again!”
I heard them say.
