One of my good friends works at the Cabinet Secretariat and my friend recommended me to Masamune.
According to my friend, Masamune is probably the best Tonkatsu (fried pork cutlet) restaurant in Akasaka.
Walk towards the South from Sotobori Street from Tameike-sanno Station and enter a narrow road. This is where Masamune is located!
The restaurant is very small. It only fits about 10 people. I always see hungry people waiting to get into Masamune!
The restaurant is very clean!
Pork loin and fillet pork cutlet are also delicious!
It took some time for the food to arrive (because they fry it after the order is made) but that’s what it makes the food so special!
Today I ordered Pork Loin Tonkatsu.
I first had Tonjiru (miso soup with pork and vegetables). The soup is made from the residue of the Tonkatsu meat.
Vegetables are all organic too!
Homemade Otsukemono (Japanese pickled vegetables).
This was SOOO GOOD!
Even if you don't like Otsukemono, I am sure you will like it.
I ended up ordering another helping of Otsukemono.
Pork Loin Tonkatsu.
I could tell there was a secret to the breadcrumb and the egg.
What’s really rare about this Tonkatsu restaurant is that Tonkatsu is served with rock salt and soy sauce.
We usually eat Tonkatsu with Sauce.
From the first bite, the thickness, softness, and the quality were perfect.
This soy sauce is also special too! But it’s apparently a secret!
I can assure you that this place serves you super delicious pork cutlet!!
