Komeraku is a Ochazuke (boiled rice with tea) restaurant in Shinbashi.
It seems like the restaurant opens as a Izakaya at night but I saw a lot of people coming here by themselves.
There is variety of menus from Shougayaki Teishoku (ginger-fried pork set meal), Zuke-don (seasoned Sashimi don) to seasonal menus.
Hiyajiru (cold soup) and roasted meat set. This was one of the seasonal menus!
You get to choose one side-menu. You can make your “own” set!
Here’s a picture of my meal!
The roasted meat was today’s special so it’s not available everyday.
It was seasoned with garlic soy sauce.
I first enjoyed the side-menu and some rice and later poured the rest of the rice into the Hiyajiru.
It’s good by itself but you can also customize it by adding spices or plum meat.
You can always get another helping for free. Definitely a service that most of the men are looking for!
Ochazuke is a Japanese culture and there aren’t many shops (even in Japan) that serves Ochazuke as a main dish.
There are also Japanese Sake, Otsumami (snacks to go with alcohol), Tebasaki (chicken wings). You can come and enjoy as a bar!
