There is a place in Tokyo where you can feel nature.
Less than one hour from Shinjuku station with JR Chuo Oume line, there is a Musashi Itsukaichi station.
I cannot believe that the view from the station is Tokyo.
River fishes swim in the beautiful and big river with clean water.
If you walk up the mountain a little, there is a waterfall.
After climbing up the mountain, you can rest your legs with hot water.
You can enjoy nature within one day!
Water from the river is so cold.
It would be fun to play in the river in summer♪
Hot spring is also good.
Though the smell of sulfur doesn’t smell much, this makes my skin very smooth.
Because the water is clean like this, Soba must be good as well!
So I searched for Soba restaurant around here and found a good one.
The name of the restaurant is,
JUANCHUZAEMON.
It is located in 6mins from Musashi Itsukaichi station.
The restaurant opens from 11:00 am.
Only limited amount of Soba is made and as soon as they are gone, restaurant closes.
So I went there quickly and arrived at around 12:00.
There were couples of groups lining up but because it was lunchtime, I could get into in about 10mins.
There are shop store next to the restaurant and you can buy dried Soba for souvenir.
You can tell the restaurant is long-standing from the entrance appearance.
A wind-bell brings me a refreshing mood.
As I get into the inside, staff welcomed me with a nice smile.
Friendly and franc staffs make this warm atmosphere.
If you look at furniture carefully, you can find antique drawer and other interesting things.
Other than table seat, there are Horigotatsu seat(low table over a hole in the floor). Horigotatsu seat can contain 10 people so you might have to share table with other group.
I was ushered to the Horigotatsu seat and I ordered Tororo(grated yam) Soba ¥1,800.
This might be a little bit expensive for lunch but other customers seem enjoying their Soba so I can expect good Soba here♪
Of course, I ordered Tempra ¥1,300!
Dishes arrived sooner than I thought.
I only waited for about 10mins.
First, I started with Tororo Soba.
Plenty of Tororo! This can serve even 2 people!
Soba arrived soon after.
We got so exited to see Soba because those look so delicious!
Staff talked us kindly like
“If you want to go ◯◯, I recommend there” and “You came from ◯◯! That is a good place!” and so on.
They all are so nice and kind.
Put quail eggs in Tororo and mix it.
Let’s eat!
This is…!
Too good!
Soba noodle is thin and fir. The more you chew, more you taste flavor of Soba.
Tororo is very sticky. When you take it with chopsticks and bring it up, tororo doesn’t snaps.
This must be a good tororo.
Now, Freshly fried Tempura arrived!
Look at this nice looking Tempura.
The smell of sesame oil is piquant.
Bamboo Tempura is soft and easy to eat.
Bamboo Tempura with little green tea salt is so good. I cannot stop smiling for the happiness to eat this
Gumbos are sticky but crispy.
Batter coating makes a good noise when you bite it♪
Perfect Tempura!
Other than Tempura, broil sweetfish with salt, stew, a lot of other side dishes are prepared.
You can definitely enjoy alcohol in here.
Among all Soba restaurants I have been, this is one of the best Soba restaurant.
Menu changes depend on the season so I am looking forward to coming here in winter again!
I could enjoy summer in Musashi Itsukaichi!
