“Moriichi” is an Edo style “Kaiten-zushi” (conveyor belt sushi bar) restaurant just a few minutes away from Kameto station on the JR Line.
A very bright and clean entrance.
Go on weekdays, pay before 12 pm, and it’s a bargain! Enjoy a 150-yen plate for 120 yen!!
It is a rather small restaurant. There is one counter space that can contain around fourteen people. When I got there, it was 80 % full, probably because of the special bargain.
According to my plan, I was supposed to arrive at 11:30, but got there fifteen minutes late (oops). So no time to waste, got to order fast!!
Today’s special is “Katsuo no namari-bushi” (boiled dried bonito) and “salada-gunkan” (salad maki).
The assortment of rock octopus, squid and octopus sounds really good!
The soy sauce, green tea powder, “gari” (ginger slices), clean plates and teacups are neatly placed on the counter.
I very much liked the container of the gari. It looked nice, and was easy to take out. I liked the light flavor gari (usually has strong taste).
You can of course look at the “oshinagaki” (menu), but it’s even better to ask the “itamae-san” (chef). He will give you daily recommendations and help you with your order.
First, salmon!
You can tell it’s fresh from its appearance. The fat deliciously melts in my mouth. Yum! It matches perfectly with the red vinegar flavored rice.
Attention ladies! Salmon contains valuable nutrients that will help rejuvenate and make your skin glow.
Next, I ordered a maguro (tuna) and avocado maki. The avocado is at its prime and goes extremely well with the maguro. You really cannot go wrong with this combo.
Avocado, also referred to as “butter of the woods”, is high in nutrition values and is great for detox and other cosmetic effects. I’m not going to pass on that!
I asked the itamae-san if I could photograph him, to which he replied with a friendly yes, smiling shyly. The homey atmosphere of the restaurant and the gentle itamae-san definitely add to the eating experience.
The itamae-san also let me know of the special coupon you get by befriending the restaurant on the LINE app: one free plate of sushi!
Another valuable information. Remember I wrote at the beginning that you would get a discount if you pay before 12 pm? Well, it turns out, you don’t have to finish the meal before you pay. So, order what you think you can eat, pay, then go back to the counter to enjoy your meal!! Be sure to remember this trick, it can be very useful!!
This is exactly what I did, as it was reaching noon. So reasonable!
After I paid, I went back to the rest of my meal.
The maguro is sooo soft!
The hamachi (young yellow tail) has a sweet taste. It’s melting in my mouth!
The squid is soft and really sweet!
The amaebi (northern shrimp) was also sweet and has a nice soft texture.
I still can’t believe how high the quality of the fresh fish was, for such a low price!!
I was already very full, but couldn’t resist one last plate of melon.
I enjoyed six plates in total. Both my belly and my heart are satisfied.
It’s a small place right by the station. The location is very convenient. The friendly relaxing atmosphere is very pleasant, so don’t be shy to go in even if you are on your own!
