Asakusa Kannon Onsen is a famous hot spring facility in Asakusa.
It’s located between Asakusa temple and Hanayashiki (an amusement park). In the summer, the ivy twined around the building will catch your attention.
It was established in 1961 and still has the same atmosphere of the moment it opened.
The reception is on the first floor and there are some hot spring baths. There are some rooms for massage on the second floor and there is a hall on the third floor. You can use the hall as a rest room on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
Asakusa Konnon Onsen opens at 6:30 in the morning.
Taking a bath in the morning would make you feel refreshed!
The bathroom built in wellhole style gives you a sense of space.
The bathtub itself has a shape of semicircle, and has a partition wall that divides a high temperature bath and a low temperature bath. It says ‘low’ temperature bath but both of them are quite hot. Those who are not used to a high temperature bath, be careful and start from putting your foot fingers. If it’s too hot, then put some cold water and make it comfortable for you.
Originally it was a Kuroyu (black water) hot spring, but as it is filtrated, the color of the water now looks transparent.
Beside the bathtub, there is a tail painting of a mermaid that feasts your eyes!
