Goto, the famous Asakusa fruit café!

“Goto” is located at a ten-minute walk from Asakusa station. Walk towards Hanayashiki, pass the JRA and go into Hisago-dori Street. On the right hand side, you will find “Fruit Parlor Goto”.

Goto prides in serving fresh fruit of the season. The popular café is always filled with people.

As the exterior is very simple looking, it is easily missed. Be careful not to walk past it!

Other than the waiting line outside, there are five more people waiting inside the café.

Inside, there are six tables and three seats by the counter.
I think it’s generous how they will give you a whole table, even if you are by yourself.

While I wait in line, I use the time look at the menu.

The first page is the daily recommendations, parfaits and juices.

The next page is shaved ice.

They all look so delicious! I have to remind myself that I came here to have parfait!

On the right side of the café, the fresh seasonal fruits are beautifully placed.
I can immediately see that the quality is different from the ones sold at the supermarket.

Delicious “Momo Parfait”, using fresh peach from Shigakogen Highlands

After some time of deliberation… I decided on the peach parfait, peach being my number one favorite fruit!

I see the owner and (who seems to be) his wife, carefully preparing the parfait.

Five minutes later… it’s ready!!!

I just stare at this beautiful masterpiece placed in front of me, admiring from the side, from the top…
Just exquisite.

I eat a piece of the perfectly cut peach.

Woooaahh. The delicate taste is incomparable to the peach I usually get at home. It’s juicy, and not too sour.

A moment of pure pleasure. I can barely contain my excitement!

The whipped cream is also a very gentle flavor. From the bottom, homemade peach ice cream and peach sauce come peeking out.

I saw and felt, the owner’s careful ways in picking the best fruits. He treats them with such gentleness. It is with this attentiveness that the chef is able to create such delicious treasures, which have and continue to capture the hearts of many.
