Exit Shinjuku Station and walk towards Ookubo, there is a delicious seafood restaurant called Uonchu Shokudou.
When you go down the stairs, there is a ticket-vending machine. Purchase a meal ticket before entering the restaurant.
The menus on the vending machine come with photos!
The restaurant is so hygienic and all the tables are spacious. There were a lot of female customers.
There are a variety of menus from don (bowled rice) to grilled fish, boiled fish, fried fish and so on. Took me a while to decide!
I recommend grilled saury!
It looks simple…it’s regular saury. But when you put it in your mouth…it was something I have never tasted before. It was too good!
Along with Sanma (saury) Teishoku, it came with today’s special dish.
AND it’s wallet-friendly! Only ¥690!
5 minutes later…Sanma Teishoku arrived!
This is the saury!
Yes I know… it looks normal.
It just grilled! It’s still making a sound!
I’m getting hungrier!
I dripped some lemon juice and soy sauce.
It goes so well with rice!
You can get extra rice for free. I’m sure all the men out there would love this!
Most of the guys I saw were getting second helpings of rice.
Here comes fried oyster!
The fried oysters were crispy on the outside and juicy inside.
I love dripping soy sauce rather than Bulldog sauce!
This is fried tuna I ate on a different day.
I definitely recommend this too!
If you are in Shinjuku and feel like eating seafood set meal, go to Uonchu Shokudou.
