“Toriton” is always filled with customers, regardless of the time.
But the long waiting line doesn’t stop from customers to come and enjoy the fresh sushi from Hokkaido. In fact, the number of regular customers keeps growing!
Just from the fact that the fish is all from Hokkaido, my expectations go way up!
After 30 minutes of waiting, that seemed very long by the way, I am taken to the counter, right in front of the main itamae-san (chef). Lucky me!
The menus are divided by prices, so it’s easy to see.
The design of the teacup is so charming! The gari (seasoned ginger slices) have a mild flavor and are very easy to eat.
First, I ordered tokishirazu, young salmon, which was the fish of the season. It was actually my first time to try this fish. The fat almost melted in my mouth!
Next is, ikura (salmon roe) from the Sea of Okhotsk.
The glowing surface proves that it is fresh. The popping texture is irresistible!
The scallop is so soft and sweet. Hey, it already disappeared in my mouth. What a wonderful sensation!
The botan shrimp is so big! The soft texture and sweet flavor are perfect. All shrimp-lovers should try this!
The squid is a glowing white. It doesn’t have any strong sea smell and the sweet taste melts instantly in my mouth.
The quality of the sushi here is incomparable to other kaiten-zushi (conveyer belt sushi bar) restaurants. Yet again, Hokkaido has proved itself to be the ultimate area for fresh and delicious food. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal.
As some people say, time is money, but I can assure you that the time you spend waiting in line at Toriton, is worth it.
