Today, I am going to introduce “Gyu-tan” restaurant in Soramachi, an entertainment area of skytree. Gyu-tan refers to beef tongue in English. I assume beef tongue is not eaten in some countries, but it is very popular in Japan, especially in Sendai.
Actually, Gyu-tan is a well-known product of Sendai.
But in nowadays, luckly, we can have Gyu-tan in other part of Japan.
I visited a restaurant “Rikyu” in Soramachi to have Gyu-tan today♪
I arrived there at 12 o’clock, and went up to 6th floor by an elevator.
Noren sign of “Rikyu”
There were already several people waiting for the seats!! That explains how popular this restaurant is! 10 minutes later, I was asked if I agree to sit outside terrace. Surely, I would love it!
The sunshine was a bit strong, but there was a nice breeze… It made my lunchtime much much better♪
This is the best season to enjoy lunch outside
In addition, there is skytree soaring distinctively above. It must be a good mood at night with lighten up skytree♪
lunch with skytree♪
I ordered “Gyu-tan set lunch for one” which is ¥1,620(tax-in). There are 4 Gyu-tan cut in half on the plate, and it actually is bigger than it looks in the picture.
Delicious! Than you, Mr. Gyu-tan
Once you put Gyu-tan into your mouse, a rich flavor fills your mouth and the thick Gyu-tan is cutoff easily.
Gyu-tan with juicy flavor
The “Gyu-tan set lunch” includes rice boiled with barley, tail soup, pickles of Chinese cabbage, and miso seasoned green chili. Gorgeous isn’t it?
The saltiness of pickles has well balanced, and goes well with rice.
Tail soup has a lot of spring onions and makes it delicious♪
It seemed very busy at lunchtime, but the staff at the restaurant kept coming and pour cold tea for several times for me. They also gave uchiwa, a Japnaese paper fan for me to enjoy lunch outside.
Delicious Gyu-tan set with nice breeze outside was just beautiful and satisfying. Thank you for the meal♡
