“Pastel Avenue” is located on the second floor of Marui building, just by Ueno station.
As I went on a Friday night, the streets were filled with people.
Fortunately, the café had a lot of room, and I was able to get in in no time.
Today, I am not here for a meal, but for the famous custard pudding.
The restaurant is very clean and has a pleasant atmosphere, which makes it comfortable even for the customers coming by themselves.
As the inside of the restaurant is very visible from the entrance, you will feel relaxed going in.
Most of the customers are women. The secure atmosphere of the restaurant is probably a contributing factor.
It loos like the ideal place to hang out with your girlfriends, or even eat by yourself with you phone in hand, as the tables are placed in a way so that you can have your own private space.
I ordered the popular homemade “Pudding à la mode Parfait”. I fell in love at first sight with this dessert, that not only has custard pudding but also fruit, cake sponge and whipped cream!
The caramel sauce on top looks so good!
First, the fresh fruit (peach, pine apple and kiwi) together with the whipped cream. The cream is not overly sweet and goes perfectly with the fruit. Yum.
I scooped in and ate the pudding together with the sponge beneath it.
This is it! The unchanging taste of Pastel.
I am reassured to find out that the old Pastel taste has been kept. It is such a delicious pudding!
While there are all kinds of custard puddings, I must say that the simple homemade style pudding, like at Pastel’s, is the best.
Why don’t you take a break from the busy streets and enjoy a relaxing meal or dessert at the cozy “Pastel Avenue”?
