Oniyanma is located right in front of Gotanda Station. It’s a standing noodle shop and there’s always a HUGEE queue.
Oniyanma is a Sanuki-Udon (thick Udon from Kagawa prefecture) shop.
The picture of Oniyanma on the shop curtain is so cute!
The shop is so tiny! There’s a kitchen in the middle and counter-seats around it.
We sat down with a meal ticket we bought at the ticketing vending machine outside.
What should I order…
Wait what!? It’s so CHEAP!!
Toriten Chikuwa (Chicken Tempura with a tube-shaped fish paste cake) Udon ¥490
Tempura Udon ¥470
Niku (meat) Udon ¥530
But my friend recommended me Ten Udon so I decided to order this! Only ¥420!
Customers endlessly come and go so they’re always boiling noodles.
They serve raw noodles so they have to be constantly boiling noodles.
You can always get just-boiled noodles.
Toriten Udon arrived!!
The golden soup, green onions, and just-fried toriten! Yummm!
The noodle is so chewy!
AND this Toriten!! It’s crunchy!
They’re always frying Tempura so they are always ready to serve – this is one of the good things about standing restaurants.
Delicious!
It’s still a surprise that it only cost ¥420!
If I lived close by, I had come here everyday! I’m sure there are people who come by everyday as a ‘canteen’.
I ordered hot udon but cold udon is also good!
If the line is not too long, definitely worth a try!
