In Japan, when we call food made with flour, we call it Konamon.
In Tokyo, it’s usually Monja Yaki.
In Osaka, it’s Okonomiyaki.
In Hiroshima, Hiroshima Okonomiyaki, or Modan Yaki.
Botejyu is one of the long-standing Okonomiyaki restaurants from Osaka.
There are a few shops in Tokyo as well, so you don’t have to go all the way to Osaka to eat delicious Okonomiyaki.
Among the Botejyu shops, the one in Shibuya has a stylish atmosphere.
I also recommend this restaurant because apart from the Japanese menu, there are English, Chinese (2 kinds) and Korean menus.
On top of that, there are details of the ingredients. It’s nice for people with allergy and also Halal and vegetarian people.
For Okonomiyaki, you can add bonito, seaweed, Okonomi sauce as much as you want!!
The staff will give you a description of how you should eat but here’s quick one.
First, cut a s mall portion on the hot iron plate, then move it to a small plate.
Besides Okonomiyaki, try other Osaka specialities like Takoyaki and Kushiage.
Have a go with other menus too!
Takoyaki is very hot inside, so be careful!
