We went to Azabu Nagasaka Sarashina for today's lunch!
They have wonderful soba, which is also highly rated in gourmet website.
Actually, there are two Sarashina soba restaurant in Azabu.
We visited one in shopping street, which is close to Azabu station 4th exit.
The entrance is made with wooden Japanese style, and fake soba is displayed outside!
Inside of the restaurant is nice and clean. There are table seats and also Japanese Zashiki styled room in the back.
Most of the customers are Japanese business man, or local people.
But there are also some people from overseas to enjoy famous soba!
Menu sheets has pictures for recommended menus.
You may find it difficult what to choose with Japanese characters. In that case, please don't hesitate to ask.
Or, I recommend you to order today's lunch set if you get lost what to choose.
I ordered white thin noodle with walnut sauce♡
It is very rare to have soba with walnut, actually, this was my first time to taste in this way!
I could not wait to my walnut soba to arrive!!
My friend ordered different type of soba, with wide and brown noodle.
This type of soba is the standard in Japan.
The other friend ordered soba noodle lunch set with Tempra donburi.
Tempra donburi is a bowl of rice topped with fried shrimp, and vegetables.
This is the Tempra donburi. White rice is soaked with the sweet soysause , and this taste amazing! I love it!
Lunch set menu also have small noodle bowl, Tofu, and Japanese sweets for dessert!
If you are hungry and visit Sarashina, I recommend you to order set menu, because the quantity of soba is not a lot.
After you finished up with your soba noodles, a staff of the restaurant brought this hot pod.
Can you guess what it is?
This is called "Soba-yu" in Japanese."Yu" means boiled/hot waiter in English.
This is the hot water that boiled the soba noodles.
Japanese people always put some soba-yu into soysause that you used to eat soba and drink it.
It is said to be very good for your health because most of protein scores included in the buckwheat are water-soluble, the nutrient of the hot water that boiled the soba noodles comes out into the soba yu.
The color of the water is normally white, and it contains a lot of nutrition!
I put soba-yu into my walnut sauce!
It changes mild and relaxing taste.
My friend tried soba-yu for the first time, and she also loved it!
There is a small shopping place next to the casher.
Only you have to cook soba is to boil them and eat with soy sauce.
Why don't you bring some back home?
I enjoyed lunch at Nagasaka Sarashina soba noodles!
Soba is one of the healthy Japanese meal too.
So, if you are traveling and thought, "Oh.I ate too much in this trip, but want to try Japanese meal!", soba is the one I recommend to you!♡
