Go through Noren. Time slip to the “Japanese old atmosphere”

You can taste soba noodles of “Hakone Akatsuki-an” where you can enjoy beautiful changes of Kannonsawa from season to season, at 4th floor of Seijo Corty.
There are 47 seats including counter and private rooms surrounded by natural trees, which give the place a warm air and a sense of sophistication.
Once you stepped in, everyone would be relieved by its Japanese atmosphere.

The warmth of inside

I visited there at lunchtime in weekdays. There are already a couple of people waiting for seats. After a few minute, I was guided to sit at table seat. I ordered lunch set after I had good look at the menu.

Chilled tofu are served with just right temperature

Starter is a chilled tofu. Oh my, the iced tofu goes down my throat smoothly, how delicious is that♪
The next assortment of appetizers are stewed vege dish, grilled fish and boiled veges. I assume that ladies will enjoy having a bit and bit of those appetizers!!

There is no better dish than just cooked tempura

The next dish is Tempura. Let’s have thickly sliced shiitake mushrooms, pumpkins, and flesh of freshly shrimps with dipping sauce.

Master’s recommended Soba noodle

The last dish, and this is what I was waiting for, was Soba noodle.
I chose to eat soba noodle by itself to start. The sweetness and texture of soba is just delicious♪ My favorite way of eating soba is not deeply dipping soba into the sauce but sipping soba at once. Yes, the balance of soba and the sauce is perfect!

Hakone Akatsuki-an has kept the faith of “the taste of soba noodle depends on the ingredient” from old days, and they are particular about selected food materials, cooking skills and waters to bring out the taste of soba.Furthermore, they mill high quality of buckwheat’s seed by themselves, and using water from Kannonsawa to produce flavorsome soba.
How valuable is that to enjoy soba in Japanese sophisticated atmosphere in middle of busiest city, Tokyo.
