This museum opened in 2002 and you can also buy Bonsai and Bonsai tools not only see them.



A lot of bonsais are contained in big Japanese style house

This place is located in quiet residential area in Koiwa, Edogawaku, Tokyo.
The exterior of the building is rather Japanese style house than museum.

Inside of the building, there are bonsais arranged everywhere.
Sometimes bonsai artists are working so it would be also interesting to see how hey care of bonsai.



There is bonsai costs 100 million yen



There are 400-500 bonsais in the yard of museum. Among them, there is a bonsai cost 100 million yen!

This is the exhibition you cannot miss. Also, some of bonsais are more than 100 years old and you will feel better after seeing those impressive art of Bonsai.

Not only bonsai, Japanese style garden is also interesting point of this museum. Carps are swimming in the pool.



There are exhibition related to bonsai, and tearoom.

Exhibition event about bonsai is held inside of the museum.

You can feel Japanese sense of beauty through this house. In the tearoom, Kusunoki, the symbol tree of Edogawaku, is planted.



You can make your own bonsai through “Bonsai experience”



In Bonsaien, you can see bonsai artist's work closely and also you can appreciate various of bonsais.
Trough “Bonsai Experience”, you can make your own little bonsai.

Because you can bring this bonsai to home, this plan is famous for tourist. Other than this, you can buy bonsais sold in the museum.

However, the soil of bonsai sometimes contain harmful insect so you should look up the criterion and check what you can bring into your country.
