Kairyoyu is a long established public bath, marking its 100th anniversary in 2016. Its excellent location, ten-minute walk from Ebisu station, twelve-minute walk from Shibuya station and walking distance from Daikanyama, is one its main strong points.
As you leave Meiji-dori and enter a small alley, you will see a sign that says “ゆ” (“yu”, meaning hot water) and a chimney. The public bath is located inside an apartment in a quiet neighborhood. The facility also offers Laundromat service.
There is a vending machine, a television and even a massaging chair in the spacious lobby. The area allows smoking.
While it is inside an apartment, the space is very comfortable. People of all ages visit this public bath, most of which are locals.
The wall of the bath is covered in panel pictures of white birch. There is an ultrasonic bath, an ultraviolet bath, a sauna and even a cold bath. You can use freely the equipped body soaps and shampoos.
Pay a little extra, and use the sauna with the cold bath!
