KITCHEN KOKORO

They have 4 types of lunch menu and they are written in a board.I intuitionally ordered Showga-yaki (ginger flavored pork). Each restaurant uses different meat and different sauce. I was wondering how it is prepared in this restaurant.

Japanese-style cafeteria with kind solicitude of the madam

It is along Kiyosumi Street. The entrance is narrow but you will find it easily as they have it decorated with a lot of flowers and plants.

A married couple runs this restaurant. The wife is so good at serving customers that I think she attracts many customers.

They have 4 types of lunch menu and they are written in a board.

I intuitionally ordered Showga-yaki (ginger flavored pork). Each restaurant uses different meat and different sauce. I was wondering how it is prepared in this restaurant.

The inside is fairy talish, cute as the wife is

They only have 3 table seats and it feels a little cramped. The customers share a table.

The wife takes orders, serves the meal and settles the payment. Her husband is the cook. They were a perfect pair.

The colors of the table covers are refreshing and give the impression of cleanliness.

Feeling the warmth of home

After waiting for 10 minutes, Shouga-yaki came to my table.
Oh, the good smell stimulates my appetite!!

The main dish, shouga-yaki was voluminous. It was accompanied with a salad, a bowl of rice, a miso soup, pickled vegetables and simmered royal ferns. So this lunch meal is well balanced.

First, shouga-yaki using national pork.
It is very tender and the sauce is not so strong, this is excellent! I can keep eating it with rice.

A lot of ginger is used to cook this shouga-yaki. I think this might help to increase my immune strength!
The amount of pork was more than what I thought, and I enjoyed eating each of them.

The simmered royal ferns reminded me of my mother’s flavor and I felt nostalgia.
I used to dislike royal ferns, but now I love them so much that they are one of my favorite vegetables.
The pickled vegetables tasted like the owners made them.

The miso soup was also similar to the one my mother cooked, and the ingredients were my favorite tofu and wakame (a kind of seaweed).

I could see that the cook has a lot of experience. Besides, his wife was really kind and good at serving customers.
Now, this is one of the restaurants that I will go again.
